Once your subscriber signs up to your list, the first week is crucial. Never again will your customer’s be as “dialed in” as the first few contacts after they get your free opt in offer.
With the first four emails,
- You’ll engage them quickly,
- You’ll show you appreciate them,
- You’ll build trust and add to the value you established when they signed up,
- and you’ll begin to invite them to learn more and invest further.
One caveat: the first week is when the most unsubscribes will occur. Throughout those first several touches in their inbox, your new subscriber is attentively looking for clues. Clues that giving you their email address was a smart thing to do! Clues that you “get them.” Even clues that they just like your style. It’s the sniff test people use when they can’t access you personally.
If you’ll let me share one thing I’ve learned over the years as a copywriter, it’s this: Your chemistry, heart, soul, and charisma CAN be communicated over the Internet. Don’t think I’m crazy now…this is where you’ll start to shine and show your glorious colors.
And your customer? With these first emails, they’ll begin to understand the transformation that’s possible when they work with you.
They sign up because they are intrigued by your offer. They’ll stay signed up if you understand them and deliver amazing content.
Do you see how this all works together?
