I did a little research myself and learned that I have made a cardinal error in the way I’ve been posting pictures. (Thanks to 29prime.com)
By loading rather large (ahem) photos onto the WordPress blog, I’m afraid I haven’t been doing poor Sam any favors.
From now on I hereby resolve to compress all pictures before posting them.
Here is an example of me changing my evil ways:
I found this nice picture of a puzzle piece (which I got for FREE on Dreamstime.com) with a size of 2987 x 2085 pixels and 2.8 MB.
I popped it into iPhoto and resized it. Now this picture is a scant 400 x 280 pixels and only 25 KB in size!
And another thing, while we’re on the subject of pictures; put good keywords into the title tage and alt tag fields to make the Google god happy.
Anymore good tips? We’re all ears…
